INCENSE CLASS - BRAIDED ROPE
Meet various botanical materials, including very special ingredients from the Himalayas, and learn how to make twisted rope incense.
Inspired by the all natural herbal Tibetan incense from Nepal, rope incense is made using ground herbs and rice paper twisted into a braid. Traditional rope incense is made by monks in the Monastic Order of Tibet. Tibetans burn incense for the spirit and health, choosing herbs that are not only aromatic but most importantly symbolic and medicinal.
This is a hands-on class where students will make incense using herbs, spices, resins, and paper. Each student will take home twenty-four twisted rope incense braids.
