MINERAL MICA PLATE
The mineral mica has a durable chemical composition, making it stable when exposed to high temperatures. Mica is generally found in large crystals, and at one time it was considered a rare and precious mineral. Today it's found in many places around the world from Africa, Russia, and South America, to China, and India. The word "mica" is thought to be derived from the Latin word micare, meaning "to shine."
For hundreds of years, since the Edo period in Japan, mica has been used in incense games and ceremony as the heat resistant and heat generating plate that supports incense while above hot charcoal. The mica plate is made of thin sheets of the mineral, and is the ideal tool for "listening to scent". Use the mica plate when you want to heat incense, instead of burning it, for a smokeless incense experience.
